Mission

The mission of Phoenix Learning Center is to create a community of compassionate, innovative, life-long learners who continually strive for excellence. Our program’s aim is to promote an academically rigorous curriculum that values the different interests, learning styles, and abilities of each student.

Curriculum Goals

Our program is designed to teach the California state standards while using differentiated curriculum addressed in the California GATE standards, such as acceleration, novelty, depth and complexity. Through differentiation of the core curriculum, the program creates opportunities for students to become analytic thinkers, creative producers and practical problem solvers. Lessons emphasize critical thinking skills, inquiry, and connections to universal concepts through cooperative learning experiences and class discussions. A variety of research-based instructional strategies and materials are used throughout the grade levels to meet the needs of all students.

Enrollment for 2010-11

Enrollment requests for the 2010-11 school year will be accepted between February 15 and March 31.  Please look under Documents, Forms, Etc. for an Enrollment Request Form, and submit it to the office by email or in person.  If there are more requests than spaces available in any grade, a lottery will be held to determine enrollment priority. Open House and Information Night

There will be an Open House and informational meeting on Tuesday, March 16th for parents of prospective students from 6:30-7:30pm.  This is an adults-only event.  Please RSVP by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A school tour will be offered on Friday, March 19th at 10:00am.  Please call or email to reserve a spot on the tour.

Enrollment for 2009-10

Phoenix Learning Center currently has limited openings for the 2009-10 school year. If you have a child in grades K-6 whom you would like to enroll in our program or have placed on the waiting list, please send a request for enrollment to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .   An enrollment request form can be found under "Documents & Forms" on the main menu. All requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

We are actively looking for lunch time volunteers!  Please sign up in the office.
