Nancy Chen-First Grade

Nancy Chen is originally from Los Angeles, California.  She moved to San Diego to attend the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and graduated with a Masters in Education, CLAD infused Multiple Subject Credential, B.A. in Human Development and a minor in Education Studies. Nancy also holds a GATE Tier 1 certification, which she obtained through San Diego State University (SDSU).  The past two years she has taught first, second and third grade in San Diego school district. While there, Nancy worked with her fellow teachers to provide equitable learning for all students using technology to help differentiate instruction.  This will be Nancy's second year teaching first grade and is very excited to be working at the Phoenix Learning Center!  Nancy firmly believes in providing a positive learning environment where students feel challenged and safe while having fun. She is looking forward to meeting all of her amazing students and cannot wait to see all their academic growth!

Since Nancy will be married this November to her fiancée Brian, she will assume her new last name, Mrs. Sah at the beginning of the school year to make it easier for the children. Nancy is an avid sports fan and loves to watch football and basketball. She is a die hard Lakers fan and can't wait for another great season! On the weekends, you can find her playing flag football and boards games with her friends.
